Fattoria LA MASSA, Panzano In Chianti

Giampaolo Motta was born into a Neapolitan family of fur and leather tanners. He felt drawn to wine-making while studying in France and, on his return, honed his skills in the vineyards of Riecine and Castello dei Rampolla. In 1992 he leveraged himself up to the hilt and acquired the vineyard directly next to Rampolla - La Massa.

Giampaolo is now 100% happy with his chosen course: La Massa to be based on Sangiovese, with a dash of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, combining to fully represent the Chianti ‘terroir’, while his Giorgio Primo pays homage to Bordeaux's right bank.
